 the Second Lecture of Shanghai Science Communication Forum was held successfully

 On June 18th 2009, the Second Lecture of Shanghai Science Communication Forum was held in Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. The event are organized by Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai Branch, Shanghai, Shanghai Consulting and Academic Activities Center for Academians of Chinses Academy of Engineering and Shanghai Science and Education development Foundation. Responsales from Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality and French consulate in Shanghai, as well as seniors management from Total China attended the Forum. Shanghai Pasteur Health Research Foundation participated in this event as one of co-organizers.

 The major theme of the Forum is "Discovery of HIV and Prevention and Control of AIDS". Professor Vincent Deubel, Director of Pasteur Institute of Shanghai, concerned about the current hot healthy issues, gave a talk named "Emerging Viral Infections: from animal to human, from AIDS to FLU". He believes that the concept of "health" of human beings should be updated. Because many diseases,including AIDS, come from animals and human beings can not only care about their own health problems, but also the health of the whole ecosystem. Another speaker, professor Laiyi Kang from Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, introduced to the public the "Current Status of HIV / AIDS Epidemic in China and its Strategies for Prevention and Control". In his speech, he has repeatedly stressed on the importance of a global cooperation. The two experts are both agreed that the existing Research&Development ideas of AIDS vaccine need to be adjusted and a variety of immune mechanisms are worth trying.

 The Forum attracted more than 200 participants from community colleges and universities and the whole event was transferred in a live webcast by Eastday. After the Forum, the two experts discussed with the audience interaction, and the atmosphere was very enthusiastic.
